The licensor, Kumdo Corporation (President: J.S.Chung) has been established in South Korea on May 14 , 1988.
And has developed technology of Silane moisture curable crosslinkable polyethylene compound (XLPE) to be used for low voltage power cable insulation in 1990, which was pioneer in South Korea.

They have created brand name as “Siloxen” and supplied Silane XLPE compound as it’s brand name to all of the cable makers in Korea and exported to mostly Asian countries with 8,000 MT per year.

On November 13, 1998, between Kumdo Corporation in South Korea and
Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) in U.S.A made preliminary letter of intent and confidentiality agreement that Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) purchase from
Kumdo Corporation the assets, including land, building and equipment, product/process technologies, and customer goodwill relating to wire and cable compounds.
However, during legal proceeding for letter of intent, Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) has been merged into Dow Chemical in U.S.A, therefore, all proceedings has been suspended since that time.

Since January, 2000, Kumdo Corporation has moved production base to Jakarta, Indonesia to meet economical efficiency including labor cost and direct/indirect cost in production.

And has joined XLPE production with Inter Aneka Lestari Kimia located at Jakarta,
Indonesia.

KDC Technology & Company has been established in February, 2000 by Kumdo Corporation as subsidiary company which is going to develop technologies relating to wire and cable compounds.

KDC Technology & Company has developed cable compounds to be used for
low voltage , medium voltage , telecommunication and flame retardant cables
in collaboration with Chemical Engineering Dept. of Chonbuk National University
in South Korea.
